Welcome back to our third year of creating a Smile Campaign for the opportunistic month of August!
In 2011 we are going further to smile where no smiler has suggested before. We are going International with the concept and that is because we are so much broader in concept than what those before us or after us have deemed National Smile Month to be. The only associations I could find where through the dental associations and they don’t seem to have permanence in their smile month campaign either, so a cheer for what they do and the change they make, though research adds so much more to how beneficial the smile is for our physical well being as much as for our mental, emotional and spiritual well being. In the spirit of this wholeness, the whole world can benefit from a campaign like this and so that is how we came to be International, just by thinking and sharing global. Whole body, whole world….whole lot of smileage going on!
The simple idea is to enjoy a new smile everday. Practice it everyway and everywhere you can, no matter what. That means that you have to make a commitment to feeling good through the work of the smile in and on your body and when all the emotional toil of your day comes bouncing back to say wait a minute…..you can stop and ask yourself what you are committed to.. a simple exercise of a smile or the woe is me of worry and distress. Every day in every way, play along with your smile.
Take a look at our 2011 Smile Calendar Page and note that every day asks you to have fun with a different type of smile. Play with it, share it and wear it as often as possbile. Just note how you feel at the end of the day. Are you finding more fun? Do things seem more likeable or did you stay on your game more often than not? It is the little things to note about what changed in your day with this practice. By adding a new smile and exploring you become curious, and the curious become more knowledgeable by doing.
Daily practice of anything gives you more of a focus for it and makes you more of an expert too. After 31 days of smiling, your outlook can be different and you may have learned a few more things about yourself in the process. Using all of August to devote to smiling may help it spread to a smile for your whole body and your whole year. If Internationally we practice this it brings on another whole, that of our whole world. What would be right with the whole world smiling?
So take yourself on and change the world…. it begins with you and a smile!
Post comments and share your changes and together we create something deeper, richer and more about connecting!
Increase your smileage and I will too!
Your fan,
Lynda
